Through the collaboration of the Collodi Foundation- this competition gives designers the opportunity to create an unprecedented project. They are given the opportunity to design the first and largest children library inspired by the fairy tale of Pinocchio. The jury that assessed the submissions was noteworth: Italo Rota, Mario Cucinella, Fabio Novembre, Emmanuelle Moureaux, among others, featured on the international panel. There was a total cash prize of 20,000€ to reward the winning projects: the 1st prize – 10,000€ – was awarded to the French team “vGHcompany”, the 2nd prize – 4,000€ – to the Polish team “Gierbienis + Poklewski” and the 3rd prize – 2,000€ – went to the Guatemalan team “De Oliveira Castro Arquitectos”. The 4 Gold Mentions – a prize of 1,000€ each – have been assigned to teams “OPV” (Italy), “OOLI” (South Korea), “DEPLUS ZATTI” (France) and “Pájaros mañaneros” (Spain). Besides, 43 additional projects have been awarded 11 Honorable Mentions and 32 Finalist Mentions respectively.Continue reading
